I think sometimes as counsellors, we think its good to hide "us" so actually, I bring "me" to the sessions. I am personable and relatable. I believe I am human first, therapist next, and this is how I am able to connect with clients.
Please don't ever think I know it all, or I have the answers. You do. You know you best, and that's how we work together as a team, so that you can find your true self and I help guide you without judgement and total commitment to helping you on your journey.
Through our work together I will help you work against all the past words that have been laid upon you, that may have crushed your confidence and stolen your wholesome self. My promise to you, is to help you challenge everything you have been conditioned and wired to think that you are "supposed to" do, feel, be or even how society feels that you should look like or even weigh. To work all the hours that you can to prove you are worthy, when inside you just feel like screaming "stop the world I want to get off", is something I know all too well.
It's time to discover what "YOU" feel you should do, feel like or look like instead.
A bit about me as a person, I have a lived experience of Fibromyalgia, Cluster headaches, Bowel disease, Disordered eating and Skin conditions along with anxiety and low mental health.
I also have had to come to terms that my childhood was not like most peoples, past relationship issues and more.
I feel all of the above, enables me to empathise on a higher level with my clients as I know how these illnesses and past experiences can affect your daily life, and overwhelm you when you least expect it.
I also know how low these illnesses and past experiences can bring to someone, such as guilt shame and anger all rolled into one. They can also make us who we are today, and once we look deep onto the past together, we can work out as a team, how we make changes where you want to.
My aim is to help you be your best self. To stop you trying to compete and change your authentic self to meet what everyone says you should do and be.
Together we can work towards acceptance, empowerment, and being able to say no sometimes when all you have done all your life is say yes.
